The Well in the Desert provides nutritious hot meals daily from our Resource Center at 1911 E. Baristo. The day starts at 7:00 a.m. with hot coffee, rolls, fruit for many, both homeless and not homeless. Working people will stop for a good cup of coffee and roll before going on to work and to share the camaraderie of the early morning.

We start serving our hot meal at 10:30 a.m. and serve until 12:30 p.m. Our meal is healthy and nutritious and serves healthy portions of either meat, chicken or pasta along with a side of rice, potatoes, noodles, with fresh vegetables, salad and dessert. Homeless clients take a bag lunch of sandwiches with them for an evening repast.

On Saturday's we offer food distribution to those able to show proof of residence. Food distribution takes place at our 181 N. Indian Canyon site and serves families with children, seniors, disabled clients, individuals, all of whom have need of supplementing food for themselves and their families. Hours for food distribution are from 7:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. A variety of fresh food, canned goods, breads, meats, dairy are given according to sizes of families. Social Services are provided from the Resource Center at 1911 E. Baristo Rd. Case management includes: referring clients to the Department of Social Services, assisting clients in completing applications and forms for jobs, services, medical care, and more, helping clients reconnect with family members in other states, assisting clients with writing a job resume, assisting in finding apartments and subsidized housing, assisting clients to obtain id cards, referring clients to homeless family programs and to shelter, counseling in drug and alcohol rehab, conducting anger management, offering family and couples counseling, and more.
